General Information About TRIUND AND LAKA GLACIER
Triund trek is one of the popular weekend treks in Dhauladhar range. Triund trek starts from Mcleodganj and further can be extended up to Indrahar Pass Trek. The entire triund trek is full of thrilling adventures for the first time trekkers in the Himalayas and all the experiences are rewarding. During pre-monsoon period(March to June) the glacier is full of snow but from July onward the glacier starts to melt and recede back and during post monsoon period there is no snow at the glacier and you only see the moraine(the remnants of Glacier). The entire triund trek is full of thrilling adventures for the first time trekkers in the Himalayas and all the experiences are rewarding. In the night, gaze at the milky way, as the silence of millions of stars above the Himalayas hums you to sleep. The easy four hour Triund trek takes you 9500 feet high, to a large green pasture that gets blanketed by snow in the winters, and offers panoramic views: of the mighty Dhauladhar Himalayas; and the encompassing valleys of Mcleodganj, Bhagsu, Dharamsala and Kangra.
